Workshop Venue

This workshop  will take place  at the  'Corne d’Or' resort of TIPAZA (Algeria)

On behalf of WoSSPA 2011 Organizing Committee, we are delighted to welcome you to Tipaza, Algeria. The workshop is being held for the first time in Algeria, which is rich in history, culture and diversity.

This Seventh WoSSPA emphasizes research works related to selected signal processing applications and includes, for the first time, new topics on systems to encourage interactions between leading researchers and engineers of different communities. In particular, 4 special sessions are organized on:

  • Signal  Processing for Biomedical and Biometrics
  • Wireless Sensor Networks
  • Multimedia Security
  • Advanced Topics in Communications

We have an average size but high quality program composed of about 100 papers spread over 4 invited oral sessions and 8 poster sessions. Authors from around the world will be attending and presenting their research results. The papers originate from 25 different countries, from throughout the world in the area of signal processing, systems and their applications, making this workshop a place for learning and interacting with important researchers. A total of 165 papers were submitted (including 16 invited papers), from which 99 high quality papers were finally retained (producing an acceptance rate of 60%). We are thrilled to have four outstanding plenary presentations from worldwide experts in the fields of signal processing and communications. These experts and the title of their talks are Prof. Himed Braham, who will speak on Perimeter Surveillance, RF Tomography, and Compressive Sensing, Prof. Merouane Debbah on Mobile Flexible Networks:  Breaking The Spectral Efficiency Barrier, Prof. Jean-Yves Chouinard  on the Robust & Secure Transmission of Information Over Wireless Cooperative Networks , and Prof. Said Boussakta on Signal Processing For Security And Encryption.  We also have 16 invited speakers for the oral sessions. We are confident that all will have a wonderful time and we look forward to your active participation.

In closing, we would like to express our sincere appreciation for the many people who have helped make this workshop successful. Particular thanks go to the program committee members (PCs) who handled the review process of the papers. Our special thanks go to our colleagues in the organizing committee for all the efforts they made in insuring the success of this event.

Finally, we would like to thank our sponsors, the IEEE, EURASIP, DG-RSDT, LDCCP, LCPTS, ARPT, SONALGAZ and TELECOM ALGERIA, for their generous support. Enjoy the technical program, and most of all, have a great time.
